Job Summary
The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting detailed surveys to support the construction and installation of transmission lines. This includes route selection, topographic mapping, and ensuring the precise placement of transmission line structures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial surveys to determine the optimal route for transmission lines and construction projects.
  • Analyze geographical data, environmental impact, and land usage to inform route selection.
  • Work with engineers and project managers to finalize the transmission line route.
  • Perform detailed topographic surveys to map the terrain and identify potential obstacles.
  • Use surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations to collect accurate data.
  • Prepare topographic maps and profiles for use in design and construction planning.
  • Coordinate with landowners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to gain access to survey sites and obtain necessary permits.
  • Provide accurate location data for the placement of transmission line towers, poles, and other structures.
  • Utilize survey software and GIS systems to manage and present survey data.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on survey findings and progress.
  • Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.

Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor degree or diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in land surveying, preferably in transmission line or similar infrastructure projects.

Proven experience with modern surveying equipment and software.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using GPS, total stations, GIS, and other surveying instruments.

Strong knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and best practices.

Ability to read and interpret engineering and topographic drawings.
