Integrity Watch is an Afghan civil society organization committed to increase transparency, accountability, and integrity in Afghanistan.
Integrity Watch works with local communities, officials, public representatives, and private sector actors to fight against corruption and empower citizens to act with integrity and demand accountability from all actors making decisions that stand to have an impact on their lives. Integrity Watch trains and mentors members of local communities to monitor humanitarian aid and education and healthcare service. It conducts policy-relevant research to better inform decision-makers and Afghan citizens in this regard. Integrity Watch works closely with civil society organizations to build their technical capacity to oversee humanitarian aid and provision of healthcare and education services, and to strengthen their internal organizational practices. Integrity Watch engages in evidence-based advocacy for the adoption of policies and practices that increase transparency, accountability, and integrity in Afghanistan.
Job Summary
The Data Quality Control Officer will support a data collection project. He will be responsible for reviewing data collected by Field Surveyors on-site visits on a daily basis. He/she will also be responsible for establishing and utilizing protocols and procedures to make sure quality data is collected. The position requires frequent and direct communication with the field team, giving daily feedback, data sorting, cleaning, and correcting. The individual will also be creating efficient datasets and making sure final/clean data is delivered to the donor.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Together with the Project Manager, training of surveyors on collection of quality data;
2. Pre-site visit mobilization, including; surveyors access to tablets, the internet, and uploading the site visit tools on tablets;
3. Ensuring quality data is collected, and electronically entered into the system, in a timely manner;
4. Closely follow up with and monitor Field Surveyors and ensure problems/issues are communicated and solved in a timely manner;
5. Occasional travels to the field to perform quality assurance and spot-checks on the data collection process;
6. Implement the surveyor evaluation (performance review) in coordination with the Project Manager;
7. Daily review of data collected, providing daily feedback, correction of data, asking for follow-up survey in case data is missing;
8. Ensuring final, clean, sorted and quality data is prepared before submission to the donor;
9. Creating and utilizing effective data QC procedures and protocols;
10. Communicating with donor Data QC Specialist regularly on issues that arise;
11. Making sure the translations of data (checklists and questionnaire) are accurate;
12. Completing any other tasks assigned by the PM and IWA management;
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor degree or master degree in social science, sociology, economics, business administration, public health or any other field.
Experience:
With a master degree, at least 3 years, with a bachelor degree at least 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in data collection and managing large groups of surveyors;
Experience in research including conducting surveys, in-depth interviews, and FGDs;
Excellent teamwork and ability to resolve complex issues and challenges in the field;
Oral and written proficiency in English, Dari and Pashtu;
Experience in administering smartphone/tablet-based questionnaires;
Experience in handling large data and entering electronically in designated system;
Ability to work under stress, pressure, and limited timeline;
