About Homeland Youths Social Inventive Organization (HYSIO)
The Homeland Youths Social Inventive Organization (HYSIO) is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental, and an independent organization registered with Ministry of Economy of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan under registration number (5651) and aims to increase the ability and coordination among service providers, and to deliver quality protective service for most vulnerable children. Our aim is to empower men, women and children in Afghanistan, particularly in rural areas. We participate to create peaceful Afghanistan that could offer every individual the opportunities of growth in equality and freedom, realize her/his potential and advance. Our services are designed to transform the youth point of view toward society, human rights, and their role in determining their future. Our aim is to grow and evolve into a force for change. HYSIO aims to empower and improve young generation capabilities, achieve comprehensive and sustainable development through providing services, programs, and projects. Furthermore, to improve their economic standing as well as their abilities by creating educational, rehabilitation, and vocational training opportunities followed with mentoring and guidance services. Since HYSIO establishment, its activities have been increasing child protection in emergencies and up-skilling the youth, particularly in northern and central regions and have established a strong network and operational capacity. Also, HYSIO has developed knowledge and deep understanding of the local culture, geographical familiarization; therefore, would be able to implement multiple projects smoothly at the same time. Previously, HYSIO has provided services to meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable children from various communities such as street-children, children on hunger, IDP children, unaccompanied and separated children and household widows. Currently, implementing a project funded by UNICEF, providing protective services for most vulnerable children and their caregivers in three Northern provinces and NorthEast regions: Baghlan, Faryab and Kunduz. Our services include, establishment of Child Friendly Spaces (CFS), provision of Case Management for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) including CAAFAG, provision of MHPSS as well as building capacities of frontline workers on child protection. In addition, HYSIO advocates for the rights of children by organizing community awareness sessions and decreasing hazardous risk for children and their families through conducting Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and sensitizing communities on its risk and prevention. HYSIO has been working to promote community engagement, child protection, and youth development. Our main area of work is to advance our programs in fields such as ending violence against children, boys and girls and promoting their fundamental rights. We want to succeed in working on divisive issues and strengthen relationships between all major stakeholders in the community.
Job Summary
The SBC Social Mobilizer will promote social and behavioral change within target communities and ensure effective operation of the Community Feedback Centers. This role involves mobilizing communities, implementing SBC activities, and managing a robust feedback and complaint mechanism.
Duties & Responsibilities
Social Mobilization:
Community Engagement:
Conduct community meetings, focus group discussions, and participatory activities to promote SBC initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and members to foster trust and collaboration.
Conduct orientation or training sessions for actors on key SBC and AAP packages.
Conducting and facilitating follow up meetings with community influential people and networks within the communities.
Conduct and facilitate community engagement sessions with households and communities on life-saving behaviors as well as healthy and protective behaviors related to health, nutrition, WASH, education, and child protection.
Tracking and collecting and sharing the rumors from the community.
Provide information about the availability and utilization of services to communities.
Inform communities about the available mechanisms and channels to provide feedback on available services.
Engage community structures/ key influencers and communities in collecting/responding to community feedback.
Program Implementation:
Implement SBC strategies and activities as per the project plan.
Distribute educational materials and facilitate community-based training sessions.
Monitor and report on the progress of SBC activities.
Conduct orientation or training sessions for actors on key SBC and AAP packages.
Advocacy:
Advocate for positive social and behavioral changes within the community.
Address barriers to behavior change through targeted interventions.
Raising awareness and mobilizing and engaging community structures and communities in communication activities during diseases outbreak, and health emergencies national/international Campaigns.
Community Feedback Centers (CFC) Management:
Feedback Collection:
Establish and maintain Community Feedback Centers in strategic locations.
Collect feedback and complaints from community members through various channels.
Provide information about availability and utilization of services to communities
Inform communities about the available mechanisms and channels to provide feedback on available services
Engage community structures/ key influencers and communities in collecting/responding to community feedback.
Data Management:
Enter feedback and complaints into the MIS accurately and timely.
Ensure all data is handled confidentially and in accordance with organizational policies.
Response and Resolution:
Analyze feedback and categorize issues for action.
Coordinate with relevant departments to address and resolve complaints.
Communicate resolutions back to the community members in a timely manner.
Reporting and Monitoring:
Prepare regular reports on the feedback and complaints received and their resolution status.
Identify trends and provide insights to inform program improvements.
Monitor and supervise the SBC interventions and ensure the implementation of the activities base on the plan SBC
Collect daily basis community feedback and provide response for feedback received.
Record details of the feedback in collection form
Provide essential information on available services to community
Refer feedback to relevant sectors
Ensure local coordination and collaboration with key actor(s) such as the de-facto authority, CSOs and others.
Prepare an activity report according to the established format and submit it to his/her supervisor.
Identify the best success stories of SBC interventions, collect testimonies from beneficiaries and submit them to the supervisor for further documentation.
Monitor and supervise the SBC interventions and ensure the implementation of the activities base on the plan SBC
Follow up on the distribution of relevant supplies to households.
Job Requirements
Qualification Skill & Experience:
Education:
Advanced university degree in social and behavioral sciences, communication, or a related field.
Experience:
1 year of professional experience in designing and implementing SBC or behavior change communication programs, preferably in child protection or related fields.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of social and behavior change theories and methodologies.
Proven experience in community engagement and participatory approaches.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Language:
Fluency in Dari, Pashto, English (both written and verbal) is required.
